streamText + useChat is extremely nice for a Next.js app. But: the abstraction leaks hard when you need to interleave tool-calls that mutate state outside the LLM — you end up re-implementing part of the loop yourself. Version churn is high (v3→v4 was non-trivial). For a thin wrapper around model APIs, consider calling the model SDKs directly instead.
